How to get there:
From the City, it will take you 20 – 30 minutes to reach Tonggo wharf, where you will be waiting for the boat to fetch you. Depending on the number of people you are going with, Nalusuan Island Resort (for brevity) has different boat sizes to accommodate you. They also offer a pick-up van service from the Mactan Airport.
The island is a part of the Municipality of Cordova, North of Cebu and has been working together with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources as well as the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources since 2002 to maintain the marine resource of the area. Comprising, of 71.12 hectares of protected sanctuary and a land area of 7, 500 square meters, it’s rather amazing to note that a small a size as that of the Fuente Osmena Circle, this Island is a marine resource – enriched island.
From Tonggo wharf, you will travel for another 20 – 30 minutes to reach the Island. For the boating rates, please be guided by the following: Two-way rates, 6-8 pax is P2,000; 20-25 pax P3,500; 30-40 pax P3,500; 40-50 pax is P6,000 and 6-8 pax (Speed Boat) is P4,500.
Cheerful staff will great you cordially once you reach the Island. If you get their package rate, you will be treated to a very sumptuous meal – crabs, clams, fish, bbq (pork and chicken), calamares and soup. The good thing about this Island resort is that they offer you a boat service of their own. You don’t have to get a boating service from another boating company and have to pay for another charge. This guarantees you a more convenient travel experience.
The island resort has 17 rooms, 14 of which are tilted cottages. Their Presidential Suite is priced at P6,100; Family Room (6 pax) -P5,490; Stilt Cottages (Air-con – P3,050, Non-Air con P2,440); Extra Person (Air-con- P915); Extra Person (Non-Air-con – P610). Room rates are inclusive with continental breakfast – really affordable for a family or reunion of friends.
The resort also offers numerous aquatic activities with very affordable rates. Because it is gifted with a long white sand bar strip during low tide, you and your friends can enjoy beach volley ball. You can also do the following: Banana Boat (P3, 500/30mins), Ocean Kayak (P250/3hours), Paddle Boat (P250/3 hours), Snorkeling Sets(P300/day), Scuba Diving (P1, 500/ dive) and Tayken Dive (P2, 000/dive) are also made available for those who want to take the fun to a higher level. Definitely a whole lot fun!
